Extending a Warm Welcome

The Lapis Hotel is your quiet refuge in central Hanoi

– a lavish home right at the heart of the city.

An urban sanctum for business travelers and central spot for sightseers.

Water Puppetry is northern Vietnam’s most prized cultural treasure, having originated in the Red River Delta region over 1000 years ago. It has since gained UNESCO recognition, and the Hanoi Water Puppet Theatre is the most popular place to see it live. The theatre is right in front of Hoan Kiem Lake, also within walking distance from The Lapis Hotel.

One of Hanoi’s best museums in one of its most breathtaking buildings, the National Museum of  Vietnamese History is a fascinating insight into the history of the country before 1945. Trace the nation back from the millennia-old Dong Son culture right up to the Nguyen kings of imperial Hue. The museum is almost on our doorstep, less than five minutes by foot.

Hoan Kiem Lake is the spiritual and geographical heart of Hanoi, and it lies within walking distance of The Lapis Hotel. It is home to many of the symbols of Hanoi, including the Turtle Tower, Ngoc Son Temple, and the great statue of Ly Thai To – the founder of Hanoi. On the weekends the lake is pedestrianized leaving you to enjoy the serenity of the space without worrying about the traffic.
